I don’t seem to have any significant problems so far while updating my sites to the latest Divi, but I’m still curious if there are any redundant optimisation settings in the new Divi that might conflict with SG Optimizer. In other words, it’s probably not the best idea to try minify/combine things like js and css twice.

As it is right now, I have updated Divi on 2 sites and left all the Divi optimisation settings on, which seems to be the default. But, I also have all SG Optimizer settings on, yet things seem to be working.

So, do I just leave it alone if it’s not broken, or will turning certain settings off make things any better? And, where do I turn them off; Divi, or SG Optimizer?

I’m going to go ahead and experiment anyway, with my own hobby sites, but just thought to put this out there so as to maybe save myself and others a little time.

    Hey there @sean-h,

There should be no issues with Divi after their latest update.
You are right that duplicating functionality is not necessary and it can sometimes lead to unexpected behavior.
I would recommend using the optimizations provided in the SiteGround Optimizer.

If you experience any issues, feel free to reach back to us, so we can have a look.

    Kind regards,

    Hi @stoyangeorgiev,

I’m actually not experiencing any real issues, except for a minor css bug that Elegant are now aware of.

I must be honest, I can’t seem to notice any significant speed increases with the new Divi, but that’s properly because I still don’t really know what I’m doing, even after 8 years of WordPress.

What I have tried is enabling all SG Optimizer settings, with all the Divi optimisations off, and visa versa. I get mixed speed results, but at least nothing seems to outright break.

In the previous Divi, there was simply minify/combine css and js, that was it. But, I kept those off because SG Optimizer also (still) does exactly that. Now, the new Divi is using fancy words that even I as a native English speaker have a hard time understanding.

As it is right now, I have all settings in both Divi and SG Optimizer on in one particular site, with nothing excluded, and things seem to be working, but at more or less the same speeds as before the update. Maybe I should just leave it like that, and set all my other sites the same?….

I would love to hear your results. Divi’s new options + SG Optimizer certainly create a complex landscape!
