How to change or remove the default Admin name

    I’ve created a new admin user and now want to remove the original default admin (username:Admin) to make my site more secure.

    How do I do this?

    Tried ticking the name and going to bulk delete, but WP won’t allow me to remove the original administrator.

    Tried changing the user name in myphpAdmin, but that didn’t work either.

    I can log in with the newly created adiministrator, but the old default name is still there, leaving a target for hackers.

  • Login as the new admin, delete the old admin and let WordPress assign the posts from the old admin to the new admin.
