I have been following this tutorial to the letter. Helpfully, I am using both Sendinblue and my host is Bluehost, so the entire tutorial is applicable to me.

However, I am getting this error log when sending a test email:

    Versions:
    WordPress: 5.8
    WordPress MS: No
    PHP: 7.4.22
    WP Mail SMTP: 3.0.3

    Params:
    Mailer: sendinblue
    Constants: No
    API Key: Yes

    Debug:
    Email Source: WP Mail SMTP
    Mailer: Sendinblue
    [unauthorized]: Key not found

I have authorised my domain and all three records have validated.

I did, however find it strange that the API key that Sendinblue provides me begins with a bunch of asterisks… It’s like it is hiding the real key from me. Is it because I have a free version of Sendinblue?

  • Hi @chubacca,

Thanks for reaching out. Asterisks are the masks and not the actual characters in the API key. The API key will only be shown once while creating. Please create a new API key and remember them or copy in the safe place.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Sanjeev,

I thought that was the case (re: masks), but I just can’t figure out how to view any API keys without the asterisks.

The one that I see was already on the API Keys page with these details: Info: API v3 and Name: N°3.

I have created a new API key, on the same page as your link, I have named it “WordPress” but the API key that is generated is still full of asterisks.

    Hi,
I’ve been using WP SMTP and linked to SendInBlue for months now, without issues.

I’ve now had the same error as the lady above – ever since I installed the actual SendInBlue plugin.

The WP SMTP test email still actually works – BUT I don’t get the email from the visitor/sender email send from my website to my inbox.

Have been in contact with SendInBlue, and they can’t seem to find out why, as the SMTP settings are coming from the WP SMTP side, not the SendInBlue side.

Have validated senders emails, and have validated TXT, STP, DKIM settings coming from my Cloudflare panel are working.

Prior to this WP SMTP didn’t show the::
    Email Source: WP Mail SMTP
    Mailer: Sendinblue
    [unauthorized]: Key not found

I have tried a couple of times to delete and get a new key.
But the error just won’t go away, and I don’t get the email.

    Any ideas?

    Hi there,

The Sendinblue API key now only appears at the time of creation like this screenshot. If you’re not seeing this or have other issues with the API key, please contact the Sendinblue team. They can check into your account with any issues.

    I hope this helps!
