    Hi,

Is it possible to assign levels based on WP Roles, for example, an ‘Author’ can only create or edit a quiz, which is created by him/her, but cannot edit/delete quiz of other roles or role ID.

I tried to use the “User Role Editor” plugin but cannot find any option to disable an author deleting or editing past published posts.

  • Hi @qph9697,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

An author can only edit quizzes which are created by him. To add an “Author” lever user in your website. You don’t need any plugin for this simple task.

To do this, go to User section of your WordPress dashboard -> Add new user-> Fill, Username and email id of the user, setup password and then select “Author” from the Role dropdown.

The author can then login to your website with these credentials and he can only edit the quizzes created by him.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Regards,

    Hi Kriti,

Thank you, yes you are right, the author level resolves everything.

Actually, I created a new role and gave the author role permissions, but somehow, this new role was able to access past quizzes made by some other authors and had access to delete as well as edit all of them.

But when changing the role to the author, the issue was resolved. Thank you again.
