• Hello Joe

I tested the current version. I think i found a bug.
I enabled the media library uploads option but it doesn’t work. I can upload the gpx file in the library through waymark, i see the file in the library but i can’t insert the file.
When I disable this option an load the file from my harddisk directly on the map it works great. I see the track on the map.

Another point is the shortcode for collections.
The shortcode is given in the Waymark menu collection -> view. But this shortcode i can’t adjust, for instance to add “shortcode_header=”1”].

If I create a new post with the hole shortcode i want, for instance
[Waymark basemap="Wanderkarte" collection_id="57" show_gallery="0" shortcode_header="1" ] I see all maps and i see in the right corner the link to Details. If I click on this link I get all maps within the collection, but not the header (meta), because waymark take the shortcode from the menu collection -> view, i guess. But this shortcode i can’t adjust with “shortcode_header=”1”.

I hope you understand me. When not I try to explain it once more.

I want to insert a photo in the Meta fields of a map. When I use a rich text field I can insert this photo. I guess the photo is stored in the rich text field. Is it possible to insert a relative link to the photo which is stored in the media library? Because I would like to store a photo only once in the media library (wordpress). Maybe you can add an html field.

Thx a lot for your response, i appreciate your work very much

    Hi @meggsico,

    Thanks for this.

I enabled the media library uploads option but it doesn’t work. I can upload the gpx file in the library through waymark, i see the file in the library but i can’t insert the file.

Interesting, are you seeing any Waymark output with Debug Mode enabled? Getting file uploads working reliably was very finky, which was one of the reasons for offering two upload methods.

If I create a new post with the hole shortcode i want […] I see all maps and i see in the right corner the link to Details. If I click on this link I get all maps within the collection, but not the header (meta), because waymark take the shortcode from the menu collection -> view, i guess. But this shortcode i can’t adjust with “shortcode_header=”1”.

I believe this is the expected behavior. If you click Collection -> Details is there a link to view the Map Details page (like “Read More” here for example). You should be able to click through to the Map Details page, which displays the Meta. The content displayed on these pages is theme-dependant, but is adjustable (with some coding).

Do I understand correctly – instead of a “read more” link to the Map Details page you would rather the Meta be displayed for each Map on the Collections page (using the Shortcode Header)?

Maybe you can add an html field.

Please try adding HTML in the Text/Textarea Meta Types, this should work. Do let me know if this is not the case.

    Cheers,

    Joe

Adding HTML in Text/Textarea Meta fields work fine.

I didn’t realize the link in the title to the details (Meta info) of the map. This behavior is good enough for me. But i want the maps displayed in collections like the following screenshot. You see a link to details as a result of the shortcode header.

    Screenshot 1

    Screenshot 2

On the second screenshot you see in the diagram a little display failure -> metres m is overwritten. Is this a problem in my theme?

    Thank you.

    Cheers,

    Hi @meggsico,

    Here after the error message

Thanks for this, unfortunately that doesn’t help much I’m afraid (…making a note to improve error messages!…). Honestly if you are able to upload files successfully using the other method then I don’t think it is worth digging into the cause of this. Things like this are usually due to security settings on the server-side and can be extremely difficult to diagnose. My hope is that users have luck with one of the two upload methods. Thanks again for brining this to my attention.

But i want the maps displayed in collections like the following screenshot. You see a link to details as a result of the shortcode header.

I’m afraid I don’t really follow you. When embedding a collection a “Details” link is displayed in the Shortcode Header (like this) that takes you to the Collection archive view. No Meta is displayed by the Collection, only for individual Maps.

Please could you detail the new behavior you would like?

On the second screenshot you see in the diagram a little display failure -> metres m is overwritten. Is this a problem in my theme?

I am not seeing what you refer to, could you provide more details?

    Cheers,

    Joe

That’s ok for me. I thought you might like to know that it doesn’t work.

Please see the attached file. You see an url to a collection. But the maps inside the collection have no details link in the headers.

See the attached file. You see the m is overwritten by 2200

    Hi @meggsico,

Thanks again for the extra detail.

Please see the attached file. You see an url to a collection. But the maps inside the collection have no details link in the headers.

My apologies, I understand now! This is indeed a bug, which I believe I have resolved in the latest development release. You can download it here (details on installing development releases here). Please do let me know if this resolves the issue for you.

Ah OK, I see this too. Unfortunately this little quirk is not easy to fix. I tried to tweak this with CSS, but I think it must be altered programmatically using JavaScript. I will add this to my list of things to look in to for the future.

Thanks again for letting me know about these things, it really does help make Waymark better.

    Cheers,

    Joe
