I am using a simple slider layout for my Woocommerce product page, with a main image on the right, and thumbnails on the left. It is set up so that when you click the arrows on the main (large) image, it never stops and just repeats the set of images when you get to the last image.

However, when navigating through the images by swiping, as opposed to clicking the arrows, the set of images does not reset, and you get stuck on the “last” image in the set, and you must then swipe the other direction to go back through the images.

Is there a setting that could make it so that the swiping action can be made infinite as well? If not, is there some code that I might be able to add to accomplish this?

    Thanks!

    Hi @jbslettebak

In the Free version you should be able to switch to first slide from the last slide and vice versa, just like you see in this slider template:
    https://smartslider3.com/full-width-post-slider/
Since by default the slider behaves as if the Carousel option ( Pro feature ) was enabled:

Do you probably use Smart Slider 3 Pro? If you do, then please note that this forum is for the Free version only and as per the forum rules, we are not allowed to provide help for questions connected to commercial products.

    Hi Laszlo,

Thank you for the response. The example of the full width slider that you posted is exactly how I would like mine to work. However, it does not.

I am using the free version as well, not the pro version. One thing I realize now that I probably should have mentioned is that I am using a vertical slider rather than a horizontal one. Could this be why this issue is occurring? See the product slider here: https://madison.sandbox-cobolt.com/product/bordado-towel/. You will notice that at if you try to swipe up for at the first image, or down at the last image, that it will not advance as an infinite loop, and will instead scroll the page up or down.

Please let me know if there is any further information that I might be able to provide to help troubleshoot this issue. If you think that this issue is in fact caused by me using a vertical slider rather than a horizontal one, what might I be able to do to solve this problem short of switching it to horizontal? My client is adamant on having a vertical slider, so any workaround for this that you might be able to provide for me would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Laszlo,

I just did a test, and the infinite swipe works perfectly when my animation is set to horizontal, rather than vertical. Why can’t the plugin handle an infinite loop when sliding vertically? Is there something I can do to enable this action?

    Thank you.

    Hi @jbslettebak

This “block” happens because when the Mouse wheel is enabled, as in this case we automatically stop the scrolling on the last slide to ensure that the visitor can advance to the rest of the page once they checked all slides in the slider.

In the Pro version there’s an option called “Block carousel” that can disable this behavior. Unfortunately, currently this option isn’t available in the Free version.

We discussed this, and we decided to make the “Block carousel” option available in the Free version. I’ll keep you posted on this matter!

    Hi @jbslettebak!

We modified our code and you can find an installer here:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/cc6hqbgnmd1h1q2/smart-slider3-wordpress-free-master.zip?dl=1

You should just go to your Plugins list, delete your current Smart Slider 3 (don’t worry, your sliders will stay) and install this one by uploading it:
    https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1717-wordpress-installation#admin

After this, on the Developer tab of your slider’s settings:
    https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1806-slider-settings-developer
you will find a “Block carousel” option, what you should turn off. That way the scroll and swipe won’t be stopped on the last slide.

If you would see any issues after this, let us know!

    Hi Gabor,

Thank you so much for the help. The modified plugin works perfectly. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with the service you guys have provided, especially for that of a free plugin. The next time I need a slider plugin for a site (which will be in the very near future), I will absolutely be purchasing the Pro version, and will be using only Smart Slider from here on out.

    Thanks again!
