    Hi,
I’m experiencing a bug with the add to cart button where it will add a variable product to the cart even when no options have been selected and it is greyed out. You can see this behavior here…

    Steps to recreate:
    1. set variables to the default “select an option”
    2. click the greyed out “add to cart button”

This is an issue even with the default storefront theme.
Does anyone have thoughts on how to resolve this?

Currently running an updated version of WordPress and WooCommerce on a dreamhost server.
    Thanks for your time!

  • Hi,

Its woocommerce default function for the variable product, If nothing is selected the default is selected automatically.

You can change the default value from dashboard->woocommerce->product->varition

    Thank you

    Hi @deernicorn,

    Thanks for reporting this.

I couldn’t replicate the issue on my test site. When “Choose an option” is selected and the “Add to cart” button is greyed out, if I try to add the item to the cart I receive a warning message and after clicking Ok the product is not added to the cart. This is the default behavior.

To be noticed that I only have the default Storefront theme and WooCommerce active. Can you please deactivate all other plugins except WooCommerce and check if the issue persists? If not, then you know the problem was with one or more plugins you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts.

    Thanks.
