• Hello,
I hope all’s well and thanks for reading.
I created a www.remarpro.com site (I already owned the domain) through SiteGround.
I loaded one of the free themes then wanted to change that to another one, so I installed a few new themes and picked one to activate.
When I click on Appearance>Themes, it’s telling me that the new theme is active, but when I visit my site, the old one is still there.
I have cleared my browser cache, purged the SG cache (through the plug-in accessed through the WordPress admin panel) and gone in to SiteGround to flush the caches. The old theme is still displaying.
I’ve done a thorough search of this forum and Googled the hell out of it, but can’t find an answer, and I’m going slightly bonkers; is the last remaining option to delete the WordPress application from my SiteGround log-in? I haven’t created/uploaded any content, save a logo, so I wouldn’t be bothered doing that.
    Any help is most appreciated!

  • Hello @swiftediting,

I hope you are doing good.
    Thanks for asking.

I would like to suggest you few points.

    1. kindly check the site in incognito mode.
    2. I suggest you disable caching plugin and test.
    3. After applying the new theme you mentioned the old one is still there? are you talking about the design or content of the site please justify.
    4. If you want to reset the whole site I suggest you use the wp-reset plugin to reset your site completely as this is a pretty easy way to reset the WordPress site completely.

Do make sure you have to take a full site backup for safety.

I hope the above suggestions will work for you.

    Cheers!

    Hello Imran,
Thanks so much for your reply and the suggestions.
I tried 1. and 2. but the issue is still there.
The design and content of the old theme is still there. I changed the logo and a few headings, which came through as changes, but the design and the rest of the content won’t budge.
I’ve installed and activated the wp-reset plugin, so I’ll give that a go now.
    Thanks again!
