    Hello,

I have made several attempts to migrate between servers. It’s coming from a cpanel account going to a cloud platform running its own CP so basically FTP is the only option.

After several attempts, I managed to finally get to the progress page but never make it past 0%. I found the following instructions and had been trying option #2. Under Advanced, I entered the IP of the destination server and the DNS of my registrar. Migration failed.

If you want to migrate the Website to a new server with the same domain UR. There are two ways to do this.

    1. Setting up WordPress on the new server & pointing the DNS to that server. Once you do this, you can simply install Migrate Guru & add the website URL as the destination website & go ahead with the migration.

    2. Setting up WordPress on the new server & not pointing DNS to that server. Here, you would need to enter the website URL & enter the Server IP of the new server in “Advance Options” & start the migration.

Let us know if you have any questions or need assistance.`

So then I pointed DNS and set up SSL for the new server (and checked that DNS had propagated) but this time I got:

“We are unable to contact the source site. Due to this the migration cannot be completed.” So I’m really not sure how to accomplish this. I’ve used the plugin successfully in the past (long ago) but can’t figure out what I’m missing in this scenario.

    TIA.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I think in the end, since I’ve pointed the URL to the new server, I may just assign a sub domain to the source… although I shouldn’t have to do this. I’m just not sure what I’m missing to make this work the way it should.

    Hey!

    Thank you for your message.

We can see that the reason our systems were unable to contact your website was that our IPs are not being allowed to access the site. We receive a 401 error every time our requests reach the site.

We have seen in the past that this could occur if there is a Firewall blocking our access to the website.

Can you please confirm if there is any such setup on the source site or server that’s blocking our access and throwing a 401 error?

    Thanks,
    Aman Kedia

Where are your servers based, as I got the same message as TyantA.
Also it says that migration limits have been reached and I have not managed to do a migration yet, as it kept failing.

Can you please let me know as soon as possible.

    Thank you

    Amir
