• I paid for this a while back and it’s a good plugin.

My sub lapsed and for whatever reasons I decided not to upgrade. My choice, I hope.

Now I have CONSTANT nag messages, despite installing “Hide Dashboard Notifications” and even writing a plugin myself to tell this plugin to shut up… apparently Josh deems his plugin more important than user choice, and all but his messages are properly removed… not his.

I DO NOT WANT TO BUY YOUR PLUGIN (again). AND I DO NOT NEED SUPPORT. AND I DO NOT NEED YOU HIUJACKING MY WEBSITE’S ADMIN.

Kindly remove the nags, they are unethical, and bloody annoying.

(I plan to migrate my reviews to another plugin.)

    Hey Olly,
I apologize for the constant nagging. I’m guessing the nature of the nags are about upgrading or renewing the pro license? I personally didn’t code any nags into the base plugin, however, the licensing side of the plugin uses a popular third-party solution called Freemius. The nags are more than likely coming from them. Can you use the support forum inside the plugin and file a private ticket or contact me from my website contact form? I’m happy to get this figured out for you.

    Thanks,
    Josh

Thank you for reaching out Josh and I have to say your kind reply rather deflates my complaint!

Unfortunately the forum tab offers nothing but a white screen, I guess it’s an iframe? Doesn’t work.

Everything else – all the important stuff – does work. I do not wish to misrepresent the plugin’s functionality, frustrating as have/are the nag screens which, yes, are about coughing up more do$h.

Please have a word with Freemius, their overbearance comes across as yours. You see from the above how very annoying this can be.

Otherwise, I’ll contact you as you suggest. Thank you.

Yes, please contact me through my website if you haven’t already. That way I can get some screenshots of the nags so I can communicate with Freemius on how to turn them off. Thanks.

done, cheers Josh, I appreciate your attention.

Well, I would have appreciated your attention had you actually done something to rid me of the nag screens.

Oh sure, you asked for me to allow a third party I’ve never dealt with have my Admin details to snoop about the site, for something that I find it hard to believe they do not know exactly how to solve without risking my site… no, that was never necessary, I know that much.

So, day in day out, nag nag nag. Nothing sorted and dsespite your appealing response, all words I’m sorry to say.

… You asked for a screenshot which I provided, also explaining (to Freemius) that it is #not a caching issue. Might I suggest someone reads the text of the nag, then sends me a function to disable it? I guess you know your code: Version 10.6.3.

(Imagine buying an inexpensive radio, the guarantee runs out, then you get nagged each and every day for over a year to buy a new telly. Yes, that is a fair analogy.)

I realise this has fallen through the cracks, Josh. Pity. Kindly un-fall it.

    Thank you.

    Hey Olly,
Yes, I know my code, but the nag is coming from Freemius. I’m not sure why their code is not picking up your dismissal of the nag. If you haven’t already, please respond to their email and ask for the function to disable the nag. I will also follow up if you haven’t.

    Thanks,
    Josh
