• my co-webmaster deleted some files and now our blog isn’t showing up on independent site. when i try to log in in wp-login.php i get the connection to db not established or something like that. i’ve checked config.php and uploaded to directory containing wp root files and directories. is that where the file goes? can’t recall. any other suggestions short of re-install the whole thing? help would be great thank you.

  • When you say “deleted some files” do you mean core files or theme files?

Yes, the config.php goes in the root of the wp folder. NOT on the theme level root. eg: you should see files like wp-cron, wp-feed, etc. on the correct level for config file.

    good: thank you.
i have used the correct place to upload the file. i even get Error connecting to Db when i go to wp-login.php file. the host server tech people assure me the db server is running. my co worker deleted files from root of public folder (directory). so i’m lost as to where to start.
