Hi. I hope you are doing well. When I paste the post URL in WhatsApp chat, it only fetches the Title but not the featured image or image. On other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, there is no problem. Kindly can you help with that?

Upon checking the page source of the provided page https://suryasatta.com/, we do see that there’s no Open Graph image tag og:image require to show the preview image on the shared link. Screenshot: https://tinyurl.com/yfgamhrn

Please go to SEO > Search Appearance >> General and upload the social image for your homepage.

    Does this resolve the issue?

    Hi @shershit

Upon checking https://suryasatta.com in Facebook’s Sharing Debugger Tool here, we do see that the og:image tag is outputting and is being detected as expected.

We’re not sure as to why WhatsApp isn’t picking up the og:image tag (as based on our research here, it should be utilizing the open graph image tag) but you may want to contact WhatsApp for more information and documentation, as we can be certain that the open graph tags from our plugin are outputting as expected.

When I deactivate the yost seo plugin, the preview image is showing when the post is shared on WhatsApp, and the preview image is stopped when I activate the plugin again.

    Hi @shershit

We can’t properly view the page source of your website as it looks like you’ve introduced a restriction on your site.

Upon recalling from yesterday, I failed to mention that I did see 2 og:image tags outputting yesterday, one from the Yoast SEO plugin, and from another plugin. And it looked like the Jetpack image CDN is being utilized, which also causes issues.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

We recommend doing a conflict check (if possible on a staging site), with a default WP theme and only the Yoast SEO plugin (so only our open graph tags are generating) and then try to reproduce the issue again.
