I had to go nuclear on a site I was working on. I use Hostgator – WordPress – Elementor Pro. I had been using the SVG Support successfully before resetting the site. I should also mention due to miscommunication with Hostgator my site went down for a couple of days at the same time it was being reset. After reset I needed to reload any plugins I needed. Now I get the message “Not allowed….security…” whenever I try to upload a file (the svgs are created by me and are clean).

I have removed all plugins except for Elementor, E Pro, SVG Support and Updraft backup.

Still telling me I can’t upload. Any ideas? Thanks!!!!

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear of your troubles!

First thing I would do is switch to a better host. I’ve seen weird issues (both related and unrelated) with this host and some other popular ones. I would recommend cloudways personally, pretty cheap starter when choosing digital ocean as the base.

In regards to this specific issue, please try with a standard theme (like twentytwentyone) and only svg support active, no other plugins.

If you still have an issue, it’s likely the host. It may just be settings in the hosting or it may be something stopping it permanently, hard to say.

But try that and let me know how you go.

How did you go with this?
I’ll mark as resolved, but let me know if you still need a hand at all.
