I received an email from WordPress that said Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg.

The actual error is: An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 30 of the file /home2/f1a4a1c8/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-addons-for-gutenberg/lib/ast-block-templates/ast-block-templates.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home2/f1a4a1c8/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-addons-for-gutenberg/lib/ast-block-templates/classes/class-ast-block-templates.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php74/root/usr/share/pear’)

I’ve tried restoring the site several different backups. I deactivated the plug in. I turned off auto updates and still nothing changes. I can’t get my website back. Please help!

    Hi @rfsolutions,

This forum is support for the free Wordfence Security plugin rather than general WordPress or other associated plugins. In our experience, when ‘wordfence’ is the plugin affected in the error text during an E_COMPILE_ERROR, a remove/reset of the plugin may be required as this error suggests something went wrong during the install or update process. It could be worth removing and reinstalling the Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg plugin manually.

If that doesn’t solve things, it is worth reaching out to the developers of this plugin to see if they have a tried and tested method for resolving this if they’ve seen it crop up before.

    All the best,

    Peter.
