the restore option never completes. It gets half way thru then times out. I have talked to the expert help at NameHero and they have done things to try to remedy this on their end, but still no…

AAlso up on the server, there are 5 sets of files. The restore option creates now 7 or 8 – doubling two or three of the file groups – even after going up on the server and deleting the extra groups not needed

    Thanks

    Hello Brenda @msbfrnj

The restore timeout issue is usually caused by insufficient server resources.

Those extra files should be the decompressed files generated during the restoration, and they are temporarily left behind due to the restoration timeout. As long as the restoration is successful, all these files will be deleted automatically.

So now, it is recommended that you delete all files (including backup files) in the wp-content/wpvividbackups directory of your website. Then upload the backup file again.

After that, go to WPvivid Settings > Advanced Settings,

    1. Change?PHP Memory Limit for restoration?to 512MB.
    2. Change?PHP script execution timeout for restore?to 3600s (try 7200s if the timeout error persists)
    3. Save Changes and run another restore.

And when performing restoration, make sure to wait for the restoration to complete naturally, and?do not refresh or close the restore page until a success or failed message appears.

    All the best,
