Hi, this is the third time your plugin has caused my sites to go down. I’ve had to disable it on this site https://toursinfiji.com/ and 2 others. I had to get support to try and fix the issue, here is what they said:

We’ve managed to track down the offender to cleantalk-spam-protect plugin which we’ve disabled now for you. It was firing off a large number of requests, and we weren’t able to restart the site without disabling.

What is wrong with your software?

    Hello,

We need more details about this issue. What requests do you mean? Were there any PHP or web server errors?

Hi, here is the reply from my hosting company:

The database error we found in your site went as “WordPress database error: [Unknown column ‘source’ in ‘field list’]
INSERT INTO wp_uzf0wv5gvl_cleantalk_sfw_temp (network, mask, status, source) VALUES (168430090, ….” then proceeds to list a very large table of numbers listing each value.
By requests, we mean requests to enter the server, such as if I visited your site, a request to access the server would be sent to your site’s backend. With Cleantalk, we were noticing several requests per minute, which significantly slow down, and in your case, crash your site. Now that the plugin is disabled, I’m unable to run a debug to find anymore specific errors. However, you could let those folks know this info and see if this helps get them started, otherwise we can always briefly reactivate the plugin so that we can review exact errors that appear on the server while it’s active. Hope this helps a bit, please let us know if we can assist further, cheers!

    Hope this helps, thanks, Sandra.

Thank you for the details. Please, deactivate the plugin with the “Complete deactivation” option enabled and then activate it again.

    1. Enter the Antispam by Cleantalk plugin settings. (WordPress Dashboard -> Settings -> Antispam by Cleantalk -> Advanced settings)

    2. Check the last settings “Complete deactivation” and save changes.

    3. Deactivate the plugin on the “Plugins” page in WordPress Dashboard.

    4. Then activate it.

    5. Proceed to the plugin’s settings. (See item 1.)

    Did it help?

Hi, we left the plugin unactivated after it crashed the site. After receiving your instructions, I tried to Activate it to get to the settings but it kept giving me a 501 bad error. So I deleted the plugin and reinstalled it, but it still wouldn’t active, same error.
