I finally got my catalogs to select (you have to make sure you have permissions to edit the catalogs in the Business Settings on FB), and when I hit “Done” I got “something went wrong when connecting to facebook”

I don’t have access to the error logging option so I can’t give you any more information than this – I went through every single step, selected the account, business, catalog, pixel, etc, etc. and it’s not set up.

    Can you please help?

  • Hey @petrakosa

I understand that you're getting the error message "Something went wrong when connecting to Facebook!" when you try to set up the Facebook for WooCommerce extension.

While this error can happen for a number of reasons, the most common one is not allowing Facebook to ‘manage your business’ during the connection process.

Could you please remove the existing connection by navigating to Marketing > Facebook and clicking uninstall: https://d.pr/i/uFD75F

After the uninstallation, please click on "Get Started" to reinitiate the connection and ensure that the option to allow Facebook to ‘manage your business’ is selected during the connection process: https://d.pr/i/v07Wwj

This should resolve the issue you described. However, if the issue persists, please let us know so we can help further.

Hi. The option shown https://d.pr/i/v07Wwj doesn’t exist on my screen. This is what I have https://snipboard.io/DGHgyv.jpg

and I’m still getting the same error.

    Hi @petrakosa,

Thanks for the screenshots, yes that option looks correct on your site the latest version of the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin selects the option by default.

If you are the owner of the assets you are connecting to (Facebook page and Business Manager), please contact Facebook to see if they have any hints.

You have to make sure the assets are yours. Only being admin is not enough.

You can reach out to the Facebook Business support at Facebook, via the Contact support link for further support on this.

You may clarify, that we recommended reaching out to them on this.

Please keep us posted on any possible fix.

    Best.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
