    This is just one example.

I have set the meta title and meta description. It is not outputting my data. I checked the source code and the source code is showing the wrong meta title and no meta description.

This is a new problem. I raised this before and tried all the recommended tips. They did not resolve the issue. The meta description is missing from source code, even though set in the back end.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

We can also confirm that the meta description is not showing in the <head> section in the source code of your site. We have a comprehensive help article to resolve this – https://yoast.com/help/im-not-seeing-a-meta-description-in-my-head-section/

Thanks Maybellyne – the correct code is present, a default meta description template has been written and the page has a custom meta description written.

Thanks for your confirmation. We looked at the relevant page and were able to reproduce the issue. We see no meta description on there at all. Did you add a meta description on the relevant page?

If yes and there’s no meta description is being outputted by Yoast SEO, we’d like you to please perform a conflict check. This will help us to identify the exact cause of the issue better.

The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you do not feel comfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

    Hello,

I conducted a manual conflict check on my dev site and the issue still occurred with only Yoast activated.

(With all plugins disabled all the meta data disappeared).

I am unable to use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin as it isn’t working – it won’t copy the plugin file.

    Hello,

Does the post or page have a custom meta description? Confirm that a meta description has been added directly to the Yoast SEO meta box on the individual page. If yes, share a screenshot of the Yoast SEO meta box with the meta description. You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

Yes it does. It also has a custom meta title which is not outputting correctly.

Thanks for your confirmation. We are sorry to hear that you’re still having trouble with our plugin. Due to the nature of the issue, we’ll need to take a look at your setup. However, we are unable to do it here as this is a public forum.

So, if you have an active Yoast SEO Premium subscription or if you can consider buying one, we can investigate the issue further directly on your setup privately through email.

However, if you don’t wish to get the Yoast SEO Premium subscription, that’s completely fine. In this case, you’ll need to troubleshoot the issue further on your setup as we are literally out of any clue at this moment without taking a look at the setup. So, someone from the community might step forward as well who has experienced or familiar with the issue.

    Thanks for your understanding!
