Hi
I’ve created a product feed which has created a XML file:

     paullongnetshop

     https://www.paullong.net

     paullongnetshop

I’ve then gone to Google Merchant Center and setup a feed and linked to a file on my website which is https://www.paullong.net/wp-content/uploads/wppfm-feeds/paullongnetshop.xml

When I try to Fetch Now or Re-process feed, all I get is “The product data you submitted in your feed does not meet the product data specification, so your products were not approved. Fix and update your feed to display products to customers. To see all issues, go to Diagnostics.”

There is nothing showing in diagnostics. The properties show the filename and 280 Bytes. The Attribute names show 0 unused and 0 used.

This is the first time I’ve used the product feed manager and the first time I’ve used Google Merchant Center.

Any help would be amazing. Thanks.

I should add that I hadn’t realised I hadn’t added any property categories. I have now added them and the xml file is updated to include a lot more data, but it’s still giving me the same hassle in Merchant Center and it still shows the file as 280 bytes.

    Hi @paullong22,

Sorry for our late reply. Are you still not getting any diagnostics data? Usually when a feed does not meet the specifications, Google should show you what is wrong with it.

If there is no diagnostic data you should contact your Google helpdesk. I understand they are very helpful.

Let me know if that solved the issue.

    Hi

It seems to have come through now. I had to try a variety of things, including downloading the xml file manually and uploading it manually, but in the end it worked, but I’m not sure exactly how or why. One thing I did do was to add in product IDs but even that didn’t work the first time, but it seemed to work a bit later and so that may have been part of the root cause. Now I’m at least able to see that I need to sort some data out such as GTIN.

    Thanks, Paul

You’re welcome. Great that it works now although a bit strange that it didn’t work out of the box.

    Have a nice day.
