I have already installed the plugin Site Kit by Google, yesterday I get some errors with Google Analytics, due to which I uninstalled the plugin. Now I want to reinstall it but getting the following error-

Your site may not be ready for Site Kit
Site Kit cannot access the WordPress REST API. Please ensure it is enabled on your site.

For this, I have also checked the site health in tools option and it shows that REST API is enabled on my site.

Pls, provide a solution for the issue.

Thanks for reaching out. If you want to share your Site Health information and hosting provider here or privately via this form I’d be happy to check your current setup, and look for plugins that may be impacting your REST API.

It may also be possible that there are features at host level also resulting in this notice. I can’t be sure why your Site Health status is not reporting any RESET API errors without checking your site details.

Many thanks for sharing. I’ve created a GitHub issue so we can investigate this further. In the meantime in order to rule our third party plugins or theme related issues resulting in this Site Kit notice can you please perform the steps below:

    1. Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    5. Attempt to setup Site Kit once more

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

If the same REST API notice appears please share any console errors that appear on the same page with the error.

    Hello @agarwalparag89 ,

Can you please let us know which plan you are using for Hostinger that would be useful for us as we are trying to recreate this issue at our end?

    Best Regards,

Thank you, @agarwalparag89. We’re doing some testing on our side on a new Hostinger test site to try to replicate this issue. We’ll report back here as soon as we have more details. Thank you for your patience!

    Hi @agarwalparag89,

Thanks for sharing your current hosting plan. Can you confirm you’ve checked for the same issue when using the Health Check & Troubleshooting above as previously suggested? If so and the notice remains please create another clean WordPress install from the same hosting account and see does the same notice appear?

I have performed troubleshooting testing with the help of the plugin but it shows the same issue as earlier. and also show an error, “There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

Thanks for the update and confirmation.

While the “Critical Error” is a generic WordPress error have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the Site Kit plugin before checking once more?

yes I have tried but it showing the same issue as earlier

@agarwalparag89 Sorry to hear the issue remains on your site. Do you see any notices, critical errors or recommendations when checking your Site Health status?

    (@agarwalparag89)

No, there is no error on my site while checking site health status.

Thanks for providing an update. Now that you’ve re-installed the plugin – which allowed the plugin to work for others who encountered this message let’s try to perform another Health Check & Troubleshooting check as previously performed. As you have a caching plugin active, along with plugins that can impact your REST API responses can you once again follow the steps below:

    5. Attempt to setup Site Kit once more`

Let me know if the same occurs once more. If so please share any console errors on the same screen where you see this message.

@agarwalparag89 Checking in here. Are you still experiencing these issues? If so, have you had a chance to go through the troubleshooting steps that @jamesosborne recommended? Happy to help you troubleshoot further here if needed!
