Responsive – adjusting number pf columns for tablets

For the post carousel, is it possible to adjust the number of columns according to the size of display please?

4 columns looks great on a desktop, and it adapts responsively to show 1 column in portrait mode on a mobile and 2 columns in landscape mode.

However, in portrait mode on an iPad, it still shows 4 columns which are too long and skinny. Can this be altered to only show 2 columns for instance?
