    No matter what I do, I cannot limit the number of blog posts on my site using Author Theme.

    I used both Settings/Reading and Customizer to limit the blog posts to 10 on the blog page.

    I have it set up (and saved) as a static page in Homepage settings with my ‘About’ page being the homepage and ‘Blog’ as the posts page.

    My site is hosted by Siteground and I purged the SG cache and refreshed the page after each attempt to fix this.

    I’d be grateful for any suggestions.

    Same with limiting number of words in excerpts, set to 20 but way more than that displayed before ‘continue reading.’

    Deactivated copyright protection plugin and it resolved the number of posts on the blog page but still shows way more than 25 words in the excerpt.
    I will not close this yet as Ben Sibley at Complete Themes should know about these issues.

    Hi Stephen,

    Thanks for trying out the Author theme. I’m glad to hear the first issue has been resolved.

    For the excerpt word count, there are a few factors that could be influencing them. Author will use an automatic excerpt using the word count set in the Customizer as the final fallback. If you have added a “more block” in the post editor, that will take precedence. And if you have used the Excerpt option in the editor sidebar, that will override both.

    I would recommend checking out both of those options and let me know if that helps.

    Hi Ben, all sorted now and thank you for the response. FYI to resolve the word count issue, I manually inserted an excerpt in the last 10 posts that are displayed by default on my blog page.
