    I have a food blog having lots of recipes. I have installed Yoast SEO for my blog. I want to rank some specific pages with some keyword variations. But if I keep one focus keyword for that page. Is that a good practice? Thanks!

    @blogrator23 Thanks for your message.

    Can you please provide us with an example of the specifics of the focus keyword as an example, to make certain we understand your question?

    Have you already optimized that pages in question for a focus keyword, but now are considering modifying it to a different value?

    Yes, I have optimized the content, set meta title and description but willing to leave the focus keyword area blank. Will that cause any problem?

    @blogrator23 If you optimized your page for the desired keyword and then remove the focus keyword from the Yoast metabox, it won’t adversely affect the optimization, but the SEO analysis will no longer be performed on your content for that keyphrase so you won’t receive any type of analysis or suggestions from the plugin for it.

    It’s fine! I don’t need the SEO analysis because I did everything mentioned in the SEO analysis. The main reason I don’t put the focus keyword because there are a couple of other related keywords I want to rank with the specific page. For example, I want to rank these keywords: (Low carb egg salad recipe, Low carb egg salad, how to make low carb egg salad) for this page: https://www.illnessfreelife.com/low-carb-egg-salad-recipe/. That’s why I don’t want to put any focus keyword. Is that a good idea?

    There are no hard and fast rules, the choice is yours. However, it is important to have unique keywords for your posts/pages.
