Keyphrase variation – gerunds
-
If I set a keyphrase “buy a used snowmobile”, I will inevitably wind up saying both “buy a used snowmobile” and “buying a used snowmobile” in my text. Yoast doesn’t seem to understand that these are semantically equivalent. Google does understand this (e.g. the Keyword Planner will group the two phrases).
Because Yoast doesn’t understand this, it’s saying I have problems that I don’t think are correct.
Is there a fix or workaround for this?
Surely this must happen with any keyphrase containing a verb that has a gerund form, such as sell/selling, build/building, rent/renting, search/searching, etc. For example, if somebody wanted to use the keyphrase “paint your shed” they would no doubt also say “painting your shed” in their writing. So I wonder if others have encountered this?
