Orders: Pending Payment in Woo and Missing in PayPal

    I have seen a small spike in PayPal orders that are:
    – Stuck in pending payment status in Woo
    – Not posting to PayPal, not a trace.

    I have received some info from customers (incidentally all using iOS Safari 14). They are describing problems with their PayPal account.

    So I am somewhat tempted to assume problem is on their end.

    HOWEVER this scenario has NEVER played out until recent several days. Now I’ve seen a handful.

    My main question is: Is this a valid/non-buggy order state? If the transaction is never authorized in PayPal why would Woo receive the order? Should it? Granted it is in Pending Payment status. Should that post as a failed order? Or maybe not post to Woo at all?

    Details: (all up to date)

    WordPress 5.7.2
    WooCommerce 5.4.1
    WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway 2.1.1

    I have logging enabled, can send in dm.
    I have the system status available, can send in dm.

    Hi @toolbeltscharlie

    I understand you are concerned about the pending payment orders on your site. Normally when the customer proceeds to checkout and for some reason they don’t continue with their payment, an order is created in Woo as the pending payment.

    Please contact us at WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support. You may need to create an account before you can access that page.

    Please include a link to this forum thread, so that we can keep track of what’s already been done.

    We will be able to help you further there once you share your PayPal Checkout logs as you mentioned.
