Comments No Longer Emailed To Me

  • Withing the past few days, I’ve stopped receiving comment emails in my gmail inbox. I have “email me whenever someone post a comment” checked under Settings–> Discussion, and I have double checked to make sure that the email address under my user profile is correct. Emails are not being sent to my spam folder, as I have checked there.

    I noticed at first that my approved comments weren’t being sent to my email inbox properly, but now I don’t have any new comments being sent to the email address I have listed under my user profile.

    I’ve upgraded my version of WordPress to the most current version (although this was done after I started having problems) and the only changes I’ve made to my site recently include adding several contributors.

  • Hi that wife… I have the very same problem… and I have no sollutions yet…

    I am having the same problem and have installed SMTP plugins as suggested in another thread, to attempt to force WP to send emails via SMTP to my gmail account, but while the test emails are successful, the comments still don’t get sent.

    Please fix?

    Same problem – anyone know if this fix will be in the next update? I would install a plug-in but don’t want to crowbar my way in there…

    Same problem!! This has been happening for last 2 weeks. I am receiving comments emailed to me, but my colleagues with gmail addresses are NOT.

    gatward, try the plugin. It’s easy to install and uninstall if it doesn’t work out for you.

    coloradogal, since it sounds like your problem is gmail-specific your comment notifications may be considered spam by gmail.

    It’s definitely Gmail considering your comments as spam.

    Go to your Spam folder, select the email from your blog, and click the “Not Spam” button. This should remind Gmail that these messages should no longer be considered spam.

    I’m having the same problem and it’s not Gmail considering my comments as spam because I check my spam folder daily and the comments aren’t showing up there either. I have checked both options for email – whenever anyone posts a comment and a comment is held for moderation. I have not recently changed any settings, upgraded or added new plugins. So maybe it’s not a WordPress comment but it did just start happening about 4 days ago and I’d like to figure out why.
