Spam getting through

WordPress has a built in feature to achieve this.

You can set up word parts in a moderation list or in a blocklist:

Settings Discussion Screen

The first sends the comment to the moderation, the latter sends it to trash.

If you are able to code yourself in PHP, you can set up a custom pattern for this (and more complex cases). Here is an example:
