Added a theme now I can’t open the dashboard

  • Hi,

    As my first step in using WordPress I uploaded a theme, then activated it. After that I have not been able to open my account or see my dashboard. Those pages come up blank. Can someone help me please?

  • FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) and delete the new theme’s folder in wp-content/themes.

    yes delete the theme files. also, if that doesn’t work, you may want to clear the value for the ‘template’ option in the wp_options table of you’re database. I know that doesn’t make too much sense (for any advanced users that might see this), but I have seen that happen once (only time I’ve ever seen it).
