    Hi support

Previously I had been using Simple 301 Redirects without issue, but I think you have changed something recently as I am now having problems.

    – I added a new wildcard rule
    – It did not save in your new UI
    – I tried multiple variants without success and then gave up
    – Now one of my pages is 301 redirecting without a (visible) rule in place for it.

There seems to be no way to remove this 301 rule as it does not appear in your UI. It is a real problem for me.

Q – Fundamentally, how does your system work? Does it make changes to the raw web server config or is it application based? How do I fix this manually?

    Thanks

  • Hi @sparkymendes,

    Good Day!

I’m sorry to hear that you’re facing this issue. First of all, Can you please check whether you’re getting any Console Error? If yes, please share the screenshot with us.

You can check for Plugin conflicts by deactivating all the third-party plugins one by one except for Simple 301 Redirects. Simply go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to wp-admin -> Plugins and then, deactivate other Plugins.

Our new UI is made in REST API so if you are using any security plugin it might block the REST API and causing this issue. Can you please crosscheck whether REST API is blocked or not?

Finally, Our plugin does not make any change to the webserver configuration, it is mainly an application-based plugin.

If the problem still persists I would like to request you to create a support ticket by following this link: https://wpdeveloper.net/support/new-ticket so that we can investigate further.

    Thank you.

    Hey Faria

Thank you for your your speedy response. Unfortunately de-activating all plug-ins is not a viable option. Nor do I believe it would help at all as the RESTful API aspect seems to work fine. This looks very much like an application issue with your plug-in, most likely related to wildcard characters.

It has added a rule, which is now not visible in yur UI. Even if I download all rules using your JSON export it is absent. This points to an issue within your application, the rule is being omitted at some point in display and export process.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards
