WordPress MU Global Help.

I am working on a project that is needing some features that just aren’t standard. One of the features is a global search plugin, I need the search bar to search all of the sites on the domain. Next is the posting, I would like to list posted events on the front page as a link and date/time. This function would also be available to the main page on the domain root but globally active, it would show the newest ten posts from all of the sites on the domain. Any help would be appreciated, and I would be grateful, Thank You.
