• Hi, I have updated Wordtube plugin and now the video’s are no longer shown! This is terrible. I tried to update the path to the player, but the change is not accepted. Probably a setting somewhere… need help desperately.

  • where do you uploaded the player.swf and what path do you try to enter ?

Same problem here i have tried to paths one to the upload and the other to the word tube folder none of which works

    to upload folder /player.swf
    to word tube folder wp-content/plugins/wordtube/player.swf

Do not upload the player to the wordtube folder ! Upload it to wp-content/uploads/

The path should be then wp-content/uploads/player.swf

    @alexrabe

    i uploaded it to both

any ways i looks like it fixed it’s self

originally is said “/player.swf” in the general settings tab, no videos worked.
but i went to the add media section under media and it told me that it could not detect the player and to go to the settings area to fix it. when i went to the settings page i seen it was changed to “wp-content/uploads/player.swf” instead of “/player.swf” and i checked the site and all videos worked.

i guess the solution is to go to the add media section to jump start the upgrade and get it working at least that worked for me

thanks for your reply. I have tried several paths, but the plugin just does not take the change, it automatically seems to set it back to: wp-content/uploads/player.swf

or it just is not accepting changes, I don’t know. Anyway, the player is in that location, I have checked a thousand times. Don’t know what goes wrong here. Tried roll back to previous version of Youtube but have the same problem now here… beats me!

In te meantime I start to enter the code for the player manually in the most important areas. Hope this is fixed soon!

I have the default, looked for the swf file, nothing works. Cannot for the life of me figure out where in the world the swf file is installed. I did a file search but the plugin doesn’t seem to contain the file player.swf

I was wondering whether there is a way to have the path to the player point to a directory outside the WordPress installation. I have tried every variation I can think of, but it cannot find it. For example:

    /www/www.mydomain.com/htdocs/multimedia/mediaplayer/player.swf

Where as my WordPress installation is at https://www.mydomain.com/content

I have tried every way I can think of to input the path, but it won’t find it no matter what…

Can someone advise what the right path or syntax would be to get it to work? Thanks!

Ah, I figured it out, in case anyone else ever needs to know:

    ../multimedia/mediaplayer/player.swf

Once I uploaded it the SWF files to the /uploads directory, I like you could not get it to work. Ultimately, I gave the SWF files 0755 rights using my ftp client and everything began to work fine.

    hmmm same error.

The Flash player is not detected. Please recheck if you uploaded it and verify the path in the wordTube settings.

i already change but not work ??

may be flash player detector not work ??
