Reordering works in DB, but not admin

I am using Reorder Posts somewhat successfully. The database is updated and my front-end plugins display the reordering properly. Unfortunately the admin Reorder section associated with the post type (a custom category wplp_link) does not properly display the current order from the database. Any ideas why this is?
Basically, the ordering in the admin section always goes back to some default ordering. I thought it might be because the category includes ‘link’ – also the plugin settings remove the reorder option from the Admin panel for these posts when I turn of ‘Links’.
