On my website, when you go to any index page (page 2, search page, category page, tag page) the number indicating how many comments we’re getting on each article is off. You can see the accurate number for a moment and then it’s like another piece of code is overriding that number for one that is incorrect.

As a test, I switched to a different theme (the default theme) and found that the comment count was corrected on every page.

Has anyone experienced this or have the ability to point me in the right direction to observe the code that’s controlling this?

For reference, I’m using the Suffusion Theme (latest version), WordPress 2.9.2, and Disqus manages my comments. My website can by found at https://www.mediabreach.com.

  • Have you tried deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

That was a good idea, I narrowed it down to the Disqus plug in itself. Looks like I’ll be going back to them for further information.

Is anyone else using Disqus and have you experienced this issue?
