    Hello,

During the checkout process, I’m seeing Unfortunately, your credit card details are not valid errors while the payment is processing. The payment does go through, so I’m not sure why these errors are appearing. I have found that they seem to occur if a user updates any of their information fields like the address fields. The number of errors correspond to the number of fields they updated.

Woocommerce Paypal Payments is the only payment option active on my site.

Is this a problem with the plugin? Or is there a way to fix these errors?

    Thanks in advanced!

    Hello @jorgeti

thank you for reaching out. We are not aware of any bug causing this issue currently.
The issue as you describe is hard to say much about. I would advise to run through the setup again and re-establish the connection with Paypal to clear up any possible connection issues.
From the details provided it is not clear if this is a problem with the plugin or Paypal.

If you want us to take a closer looking into this issue, please create an internal support ticket with us as described here. Please add the link to this forum in the ticket, so we know where it relates to.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

I also received this same error when doing a live test payment, but the payment went through fine. I didn’t have time to take a screenshot of the error message, but it showed a duplicate message of “Unfortunately, your credit card details are not valid” in a red box while processing the payment.

I tried with another card and same results:

    @joostvandevijver

One UX issue I see is that your Expiry field has “Expiry (MM/YY)” for the label, but the input asks for “MM/YYYY” and this is confusing because many stores only ask for MM/YY. See screenshot: Expiry mismatch

When I ran live test payments yesterday, I only entered MM/YY and got the errors.

I ran two more live test payments just now. Before the first payment, I disabled the “Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce” plugin and I made sure to enter MM/YYYY in the Expiry input, the payment went through fine without errors. For the second payment, I re-enabled the “Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce” plugin and also made sure to do MM/YYYY, and the payment went through fine without errors.

So, I think it’s possible/likely that @jorgeti and I had errors because we only entered MM/YY as your label indicates. I would imagine that MM/YYYY is the correct format for the input. Can you please update your label to say “Expiry (MM/YYYY)” so it’s not confusing?

    Thanks.

    Hello @6288media and @jorgeti

First of all, in my previous comment, I suggested opening a ticket on the internal system, but by accident, I added the details request for another plugin (Zettle). My apologies for the confusion. This is the link you need to engage our team for an issue with WooCommerce Paypal Payments: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/how-to-request-support-via-widget-on-the-website/

What you mentioned is indeed a bug, the difference of date notation is not how it should be. However, this is not the cause of the error message you are receiving and is only a visual bug. The next release (1.3.2) will have this corrected and both fields will note “MM/YY”. No errors are caused by entering the date in either way.

Now for the issue at hand, we have just opened an internal development ticket for the error you are seeing “Unfortunately, your credit card details are not valid”. Unfortunately, this will not make it to the next release, but we are pushing this bug to be picked up ASAP.

When this error occurs the payment does go through, and the user is then sent to the Order Complete page, so no direct damage is done to the customers or merchant. The errors seem to occur if a customer updates any of their information fields, like the address fields. The number of errors seems to correspond to the number of fields that were updated. We are still investigating the actual cause of this, but are able to replicate the issue, so we are making progress.

At this moment we cannot share more details, but we have this on our radar and will do our best to solve this in the next possible release.

Thank you again for your input and the time you spent testing this.
    Kind regards,
    Joost

I received this same error several times. In fact, I’ve found a few bugs so will be supporting another thread shortly.

We have been experiencing the same issue. “Unfortunately, your credit card details are not valid” with a payment that does go through.

The main problem is duplicate orders from customers that rush through and create multiple orders, resulting in refunds given and lost funds to paypal.

I have the same issue on version 1.3.2
On my test order I did not change any payment info after it was inputted. I checked out with a credit card as a guest.
Payment and the order processed successfully but the error was displayed for a few seconds.
Also, I placed a previous order earlier in the day and received the same error message with the same payment method, however that order did not process, and the order details show pending payment.
I will open a ticket from the link you provided as well with logs.

Should I be using this plugin for a live website? Is everyone else just testing this plugin at the moment?

I’m not sure how many orders I’m missing out on because of these issues.

I am having this same issue as well as the expiry format issue. Hopefully there is an update soon that fixes these things. Take my energy devs, this plugin could be very good!

We are having the same issue on our website. Has anyone found a Woocommerce Paypal plugin that actually works?? They all seem so buggy and cause inconsistent errors and results. Our website had been working flawlessly for years, and all of a sudden I can’t find a payment plugin that we can trust.

    Hello everyone,

    Apologies for the trouble.
The error Unfortunately, your credit card details are not valid that can potentially be displayed when checking out with the PayPal Card Processing has been fixed for our next update 1.4.0 which should be released sometime next week.
That being said, credit card orders that may fail or are declined do not relate to this particular error message.
If you encounter any issues, please either open your own support thread or create a ticket with us as described here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/how-to-request-support-via-widget-on-the-website/
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
