I hv some basic queries, I was running a website on one right now closed company webs.com now I hv created a new website on wrodpress.com, the url is same as the previous one, I hv and launched it already. I installed Google SiteKit plugin, now my queries are:

    # I connected my google analytics account using Site Kit, it is created on same site property, is it OK to do so, or do I need to delete the old property from analytics and create a new site property, my url is same as last one

    # do I need to paste any tracking code in my wrodpress website manually, or this plugin installation has did it jobs automatically.

    Plz help, thanks in advance.

Thanks for reaching out. Great questions in relation to your site move, hopefully all goes well. To answer your questions see below:

    # I connected my google analytics account using Site Kit, it is created on same site property, is it OK to do so, or do I need to delete the old property from analytics and create a new site property, my url is same as last one

This is perfectly ok. As you mentioned the site URL is the same there should be no issue with migrating to www.remarpro.com.

    # do I need to paste any tracking code in my wrodpress website manually, or this plugin installation has did it jobs automatically.

Site Kit can place the code for you, meaning you don’t have to manually insert any tracking code. Of course if you prefer to place your own code inserts Site Kit can recognize this. You’ll find more details on how the plugin works on the plugin website.

Let me know if you have any further questions on the above and I’d be happy to assist.

Thank you James for your prompt response, I want to elaborate a little about my query, actually I was running my site on a now obscure company named webs.com, I rant my website on this age old never updated platform for years, now I finally become courageous to unshackle myself from it. Now I have made a new website and moved my domain from webs to WP. Regarding this code thing, I have moved my domain but the code I may have updated in the webs website are still there, and here your plugin must have loaded the tracking codes automatically to my website, so just worried the codes in the erstwhile website may create some ambiguity. Plz see if you can understand something out of this write up of mine.

I understand. It sounds like your concerned some legacy code may impact reporting with your Site Kit inserted snippets. While it’s not ideal to have duplicate snippets I’d be happy to check this isn’t the case. Site Kit can recognize existing snippets should they already exist on your site, if you didn’t receive any notification of an existing snippet I suspect all is fine.

If you want to share your Site Health information or URL I’d be happy to check all is setup as expected. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.

Thanks for your update. From inspecting your site your using a Site Kit in the form of yoursite.com/sitemap.xml. This is a standard WordPress sitemap and you can submit this using Search console directory. Site Kit does not do this automatically.

Let us know if you have any further questions on this and we’d be happy to help.

Hey James thanks for your help and prompt response. first you didnt mention how’s the health report I submitted through Google form, we were talking about legacy code, plz tell me about it.

now about the site submission, the old sitemap too is same uniformsarees.com/sitemap.xml and in the search console I see all the old links, so I am asking should I dlelte this old sitemap and submit a new one so that google crawls it as fresh one. also this sitemap.xml is auto created or do I need to create it separately.

From inspecting your Site Health information all looks fine, and you’re correct, I never mentioned the legacy code. I did check for this on your site directing, while also checking your site using https://tagassistant.google.com. Thankfully only 1 Analytics tracking code is active, so all is working as expected. Nice job on the site also, it looks great.

now about the site submission, the old sitemap too is same

You don’t need to delete and old sitemap I believe, just submit your latest version. Having said that once your site is re-indexed all new URLs should be captured. You may find better insights asking the product experts at the Search Console Help Center, where they’re better equipped than us in plugin support for Search Console specific queries.

Hopefully the above helps. Let me know if you have any further queries.

    (@jamesosborne)

You can use the first one, the second one is an image based Site Map.

I submitted both, is that fine sir?

    (@jamesosborne)

Yes, that would be fine. They are differing site maps, one for images.

Be sure to reach out if you have any further Site Kit questions and we’d be happy to help. If you’ve been using Site Kit for a while be sure to also share your plugin feedback, we’d love to hear your thoughts.
