Was thinking, from Wordfence point of view; is there any difference if my website uses a theme framework or another? To make an example, if I use a parent/child theme, does this make the website more secure as a basis? Considering the three main protagonists out there: Genesis, Divi and Elementor; is Wordfence equally effective or some do favour its functionalities?

Everyone is encouraged to share his thoughts, not just Wordfence representatives.

    Hi @elnath78

In terms of a theme and the security of your website, we recommend that you use a theme that is being actively maintained and that you keep it updated when an update is available as it may contain security patches.

    Hi @wfphil

Aside from keeping the theme updated, that is the minimum I think, is there a theme or builder more secure based on how it is built? I follow the wordfence newsletter and I remember that both divi and elementor had security issues that were promptly fixed, I dont recall any security issue being spotted on genesis or genesis based plugins. Is splitting the theme into parent/child more secure than having a single theme upon which build the website?

    Hi @elnath78

    Thank you for the update.

There are many thousands of themes and plugins available for WordPress. We can’t monitor them all so our best advice is that you use a theme / page builder plugin that is being actively maintained and that you keep it updated when an update is available as it may contain security patches.
