compatibility only for PHP 5.6 acc. to “site health plugin”

    Hi, the “site health plugin” is claiming that the SG optimizer plugin is not compatible with any PHP version higher than 5.6!
    how serious can this be?
    I am using now PHP 7.2 and it works fine. But am unsure if I can upgrade to higher PHP versions? (Which will soon happen automatically on Siteground anyway).
