I have my Woo store connected with DEAR systems back-office system, this is connected via API.

All products are registered in DEAR and then synced to Woo, same is storage values and prices etc.

When using the FB plug-in and have the product sync activated, the FB plug-in cause problem with the API connection and I get the issue with lost prices – products are set to “not available” on the site, even if there is stock or the product is set on backorder. Have done extensive testing and the fail only occurs when the FB plug-in product sync is activated.

Solution was to set up a regular product feed with xls. file, then nothing fails.

Then we have reached my actual question.

Even if I uncheck product sync in the FB settings, every time I upload a new product from my back-office the products automatically is set to “SYNC AND SHOW” with FB. I then have to manually stop the sync, and if I am not quick enough I have to delete the product from the FB store as well. A bit frustrating…..

I want to disable absolutely all product sync function in the FB plug-in.

    How do I do that?

    Hi @ocean75,

Sorry to hear about the trouble.

In the settings under Marketing > Facebook > Product Sync, you can set a tag that will not be sent to Facebook: https://d.pr/i/ffQUwH

Please create a tag to use to stop the products from syncing. When you upload the file, include your do-not-sync tag, and the products should be excluded.

    Hi!

    Thanks for your reply, appreciated!

The sync function in the plug-in is not enabled, but still it syncs when I upload new products to the website.

I am a bit “scared” to enable the sync again, since all products then will sync and I will get hours and hours of work to try and get them out of FB.

To add a tag I need to enable sync again, and I am not sure where to add the tag in my backoffice system either – it then needs to be added to already 4500 registered products – huge job.

When sync is disabled the plug-in should not sync anything at all according to my understanding, but it still does.

Bug and update fix is a better solution in my opinion.

    Heya @ocean75,

I think there may have been a bit lost in translation here, so I’ll try to add clarity about the next steps. Syncing does not need to be enabled to do thisWhen it comes to 4500 registered products, they can be downloaded onto a .csv through the core WooCommerce Product CSV Importer and Exporter. From there you can set a custom tag in the Tags column and import the .csv back into WooCommerce with the new tag associated to all products. For Facebook to avoid syncing those products, go to Marketing > Facebook > Product Sync** and add the custom tag here: https://d.pr/i/ffQUwH

Any new products made in WooCommerce still need to have the tag associated to avoid syncing in the future.

If the above does not work for you, we can try to get to the root issue to see what is conflicting with Facebook, but will need you to open up a support request on WooCommerce.com as well as a System Status Report and any fatal errors on that request.

    Thanks!

    Hi Erica

    Thanks for your swift reply!

Ok, I understand that I can add a Tag inside Woo.
But everytime I do an update from my back-office towards Woo all will be deleted and I have to yet again take out CVS and add the tag.

So it will not work for me, sorry.

I use https://dearsystems.com as back-office where all products are registered and handled. Within DEAR all products, prices, stock, sales etc is handled in coop with Woo via API. You can read more on this page: https://dearsystems.com/woocommerce-integration/

    Hi @ocean75,

Thanks for the clarifications and the links.

What is there specifically that you are using the https://dearsystems.com for? Just in case, we have a product that can achieve the same while letting you use all the Facebook for WooCommerce extension’s features.

    Hi

I use DEAR systems because it fully integrates with my accounting system, makes my life easier. It also have a ton of usefull features.

    I use it to control:

    Customers
    Suppliers
    Purchase orders to suppliers
    Sales orders to customer
Products warehouse control with locations etc.
    Products stock level
    etc etc.

It is integrated with my accounting system so most is automated.

FB extension in nice with Pixel support, messenger etc.
But the product sync is not at best, I prefer cvs. xls. file import during the night when the traffic is slow – so the server load is minimized on continuous updates towards FB shop.

So it would be nice to achieve that no products at all is automated synced towards FB.

Understood and thanks for all the information helping explain your use case. I think at this point perhaps there are better options or plugins to simply integrate support for Facebook Pixel and Messenger that then don’t also sync products to Facebook.

I would also love to have your feature idea added to our ideas board as well for our developers to see and gauge interest on. –> https://ideas.woocommerce.com/forums/133476-woocommerce

    Hi

Yes, I know and have tried other options. But then I have a lot of issues with the Pixel and FB product catalogue in FB. FB refuses me to start a FB shop etc etc.

I found that the most stable solution was to use the FB official plug-in and then deactivate the product sync, I can work around by quickly exclude from sync – not ideal but it works. Would be nice to be able to completely stop all product sync, then there would be no worries :-).

Feel free to add the feature idea as you wish :-).

    Hey @ocean75 ,

I’m sorry to hear that FB is denying the store creation. As this is developed by Facebook and they are the ones to approve access, they would need to be contacted regarding the store denial.

Otherwise, your workaround would be the best option. If you take a moment to create a thread on the ideas board, I’m happy to give it some votes. ??

    Have a lovely weekend!
