Hi and thanks for this great plugin!

Is there a way for making an exception for a single page, like the homepage for instance?

There are instances, particularly when using themes going full steam ahead with blocks, where it is simpler to keep those terrible blocks at homepage instead of converting everything to classic and keeping everything else with Classic.

Something like “Disable Gutenberg everywhere but the homepage/page ID XXX”.

Yes, uncheck the option “Complete Disable”, and then enter your Page IDs in the “Disable Post IDs” setting. Save changes and done.

Thanks but I think my description was not very clear…

What I want is the other way: disable everywhere EXCEPT a single page.

Ah no sorry not a current feature.

May I suggest you consider this option for a future release?

Yes, added to the suggestion list for a possible future update. Thank you for the feedback.

    Hi Jeff,

Did you recently change the “exception” features and added the “whitelist” instead?
Because the new settings page I now have offers exactly what I was initially asking for here: disable Gutenberg everywhere except page ID XXX – which is the same as setting “disable everywhere” and whitelisting page ID XXX.

The plugin’s description still displays the previous settings page btw (with selective disabling).

Other than that, may I ask you how those options work and what do they refer to?

    – NEW! Option to disables frontend Gutenberg stylesheet – and:
option: Enable Frontend – Enable frontend Gutenberg styles

Are those the same? What are those styles and is this option to disable or enable them? (the feature list mentions there is an option to disable them but the settings offer an option to enable them…)

    – Hide Gutenberg plugin’s menu item
Which menu item this refers to? The one under Settings>Writing?

    Thanks!

    Glad to help:

    1) “Did you recently change the “exception” features and added the “whitelist” instead?”

Not anytime within the last several years. Both features remain in the current version of the plugin, assuming I am understanding your question here.

    2) “the new settings page I now have offers exactly what I was initially asking for here: disable Gutenberg everywhere except page ID XXX – which is the same as setting “disable everywhere” and whitelisting page ID XXX.”

There is not any “new” settings page. The settings regarding allowed and/or not allowed posts/pages have not changed. I had misunderstood your original question, there is indeed a way to make exceptions, etc.

    3) “Are those the same?”

Yes. I will update the readme/docs to remove the redundancy.

    4) “Hide Gutenberg plugin’s menu item Which menu item this refers to? The one under Settings > Writing?”

No it refers to the menu item that is added by the Gutenberg plugin. It’s applies only to older versions of WordPress. I will make this clear in the next update.

Thanks Jeff, I better understand now.

My initial question was whether it was possible to disable Gutenberg everywhere except 1 single page/post. The settings I was getting were those that you get when NOT checking the “complete disable” and, for some reason, I didn’t notice at that time the Whitelist options below that are indeed exactly what I need.

Today I simply checked the “complete disable” option first and finally noticed the “enable whitelist” option and feature.

Sorry for the confusion, my dab…

Well noted also for 3 & 4, many thanks.

Sounds like it’s all good, glad you got it all sorted. Best of luck with your project, John.
