Contact form generates error when I attempt to send a message

  • Hello there,

    My contact form appears to be broken. When I attempt to send a message using it, I get the following error message: “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”

    I read this troubleshooting FAQ, which suggested possible causes for this message, but I actually don’t see a orange or red box (or a box of any color) around it for some reason.

    Since I noticed other messages indicated a problem with reCAPTCHA (v3 is what I’m using here) could be to blame, I generated new reCAPTCHA keys and set up the integration from scratch again. Alas, the error message still appears when I try to send a message using the contact form.

    Any advice would be appreciated. TIA!

  • I am having the exact same problem. Form was working fine but now it’s producing an error message. There’s no errors on the back-end and we’re running the latest version of Contact Form 7 and WordPress.

    I have that same problem with one domain. Red border error. Server is fine. PHP 7.4 and it works on other domains. This domain has one subdomain and form is not working on there aswell.

    – Tried earlier version
    – PHP 7.3
    – Totally new form and settings

    I managed to fix my problem. It was being caused by the Google Captcha code. I was using v2 previously and now the plug-in says it is using v3. I updated to v3 and now the form works. To be clear, I was getting the orange border, not the red one.

    ciao @rdefremery, your issue is related to host net::ERR_ABORTED 409 (Conflict)

    check on this form about this issue and/or contact your provider

    I contacted my host and they told me that a few of their customers are running into this issue. I should be able to take it from there with them. Thanks!

    Please reply what was the problem.
