Contact Form 7 5.4.1 “This field is required” problem

it happens because the function that send the email haven’t any feedback from wp_mail.

are you able to test your wp mail functionality? i’ve wrote a simple test that send a mail when you reload the page (place it into functions.php)

or try with a smtp plugin (usually have a function to send an test email)

I tested it with the SMTP plugin. I can send emails via SMTP.

The problem exists in Contact Form 7 version 5.4.1.

Test what I write below on my website https://cihatyavas.com/website/portotest/iletisim/. You will fully understand the problem

Step 1 – Press the “Send” button while all fields are blank. “The field is required.” alert will appear.

Step 2 – After the warning, fill in all fields and press “Send” does not work.

there is some outdated code in your template, you need to update it or contact the authors. but porto is a paid theme and it’s not fair to ask for help here, hope you understand.

Ten days ago, someone else had the same problem that I had and asked Porto.

Porto replied, “It will be fixed with an upcoming update of the plugin.” You can see Porto’s answer from the link below.

I still think the problem is caused by Contact Form 7 version 5.4.1. Otherwise it wouldn’t work in version 5.3.2.

Sorry, i wasn’t clear… you have to remove that code!

I had the same issue. Found out that this was happening when 2 fields were identical. For example, if you had 2 fields in your form that both say [text* first-name placeholder “First name”] it will show the error saying its required even though its filled in.

Hope this helps anyone else who comes across this issue.
