Is there is a way to use the Simple Membership status of a member inside a php function? E.g. how should it be called inside an “if” function:

if($SimpleMembershipStatus = ‘active’) {
XX = YY;
} elseif($SimpleMembershipStatus = ‘Expired’) {
xx=WW;
}

What would be the right code to insert instead of:

“$SimpleMembershipStatus = ‘active'”

and

“$SimpleMembershipStatus = ‘Expired'”

?

#This is the code to get the account state

$auth = SwpmAuth::get_instance();
$account_state = $auth->get(‘account_state’);

#This can be used in an “if” function

if($account_state == ‘expired’) {
….
}

Is the above understood correctly? if yes, then my question becomes:

Can this code be implemented and function in .php of other plugins on the website? Will other PHP scripts understand what e.g. SwpmAuth::get_instance() means? Or do those commands need to be called a certain way to function in PHP scripts across the website?
