Hello, I am also finding this to be an issue. The events from the selected category are not being filtered, the only display is all events. We are using the free version. Example pages below.

Conferences category (should be a subset of the above but isn’t): https://cleftcen.org.uk/all-events/conferences/

Sorry, the current version of our plugin does not support a subset of the category features. our category filter is just working with the parent category.

Sorry for the confusion, it’s not referencing a nested child category, I’m trying to filter a top level category.

So the issue is that the selected top level category in the shortcode isn’t actually filtering the events in that category when it displays on the page.

It seems to be in conflict with the active theme or any other active plugin.
Please check it to deactivate all plugins one by one and also check to change your current theme.
