Is there a way to allow admins to access the WordPress Media for Galleries? I would have assumed using the site-galley for admin only from the admin panel would have just allowed this instead of having to upload media a second time.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Tom,
    Thank you for the question.
The current architecture of media galleries does not allow it. At the moment, a gallery is set as the parent of all the media in that gallery. If we allowed selection from the WordPress media gallery, It will cause a lot of issues by removing the existing parent child relationship of the attachment.

We did relaized the issue with our strategy and in future we plan to have a separate table to dela with it instead of using post as parent. For now, I am sorry, there is not a solution for this.

PS:- All MediaPress media are also WordPress media.

I’ve already got thousands of images uploaded into the normal WordPress Media system, I don’t want to have to re-upload to put them into galleries!
This should really be a priority to get fixed!

    Hi Tom,
I am very sorry. The plugin is primary aimed at BuddyPress Community and front end uploading of media.

If you are looking for admin created gallery only, this is not the suitable choice. I am sorry but it is not a bug. It was a choice initially and became a limitation for later for some edge cases.

I will recommend looking at envira gallery and see if that suits your needs.
