Installation notice can’t be dismissed in the dashboard, returns after reload
-
Hi,
I run 15 WordPress installations, an I usually update plugins by uploading the files of the new versions via FTP to save time.
After updating to the latest version of UpdraftPlus (v1.16.56), the plugin shows a large notification block titled “Thank you for installing UpdraftPlus” in the backend, i.e. the dashboard. The message can be turned off by clicking on “Dismiss (for 12 months)”, however it reappears immediately when the dashboard is loaded again by performing a page refresh!
It seems to me that there is a problem in setting a cookie. Funnily enough, the “Dismiss” link actually works as expected in the one and only WordPress installation where I updated the plugin through the backend and not via FTP.
Please advise a way of getting the installation message out of the way for a year as expected, e.g. by patching a parameter in the wp_options table. The sheer size of the banner is very annoying in the long run. Thank you!
Regards,
Ralph
