• I installed the wordpress by pasting all files in the folder apache2.2_rootDir/htdocs/MyFirstWebsite and got the Success message. But when I click the “Visit Site” button at the top of the page, browser shows url https://localhost/MyFirstWebsite/ opening the page with list of php files in the root directory. Please help me if I want to do anything to see the page.

Even after successful login also, I am seeing the same file list. I need to manually click the wp-admin link and then index.php in browser to see the dashboard

  • Could you give us a list of the php files it shouts at you? (I suggest posting it on pastebin.)

The list of files are the files we can see inside the wordpress root folder. Some of the files are wp-content, wp-admin, wp-includes, wp-app.php, wp-atom.php, wp_config.php, wp-load.php, wp-login.php, wp-mail.php, etc

I actually installed the apache server, php, mysql, wordpress seperately and manually. May be, this could be reason. Can any one help. If not, I need to uninstall everything and go for xampp as samboll said.
