Using WXR for exporting from Joomla

  • I am wanting to create an export script for Joomla.
    I am currently using Joomla, and want to move my content over to wordpress – and so far the easiest way of doing it is creating a script that can make use of the WXR.

    Is there any documentation available on the WXR syntax and formating.

  • Have you see Importing_Content#Joomla?

    There’s not much in the way of docs on the WXR syntax–it’s a XML file, so you might install WordPress, then do a Tools->Export and dissect the resulting file.

    yes tried it, honestly … crap!
    I want to create my own migrator, thats why I was looking for documentation. but thanks, will do that
