Footnotes + SEO

    Thanks a lot for creating the plugin. Highly considering installing it. But before that, I was wondering what’s the impact on SEO.

    Do search engine read the footnotes and take them into account as part of the main article? Are the footnotes ignored?

    Have you come across any research? From your experience have you observed a difference with or without footnotes?

    Hi @zokiu,

    I have verified that the content within footnotes is indexed by search engines. You can find an article in a search engine by searching for content that appears only in footnotes. I am not sure on any other specific SEO impacts.
