I was wondering if it was possible to to point nggallery to a holding repository on a different server ?

Could this be with a url path ?

Godaddy is mad at me for having over 70k pictures on the server.

I would to like to have an external hosting, and have nggallery display the pictures.

    Any ideas ?

Thanx in advance, any help is very much appreciated.

    Hi @doublesixx,

I am afraid that at this point in time, it wouldn’t be possible to have the images load from a different domain.

    Thanks for your understanding

    Hi again @doublesixx,

Actually, I seem to have found something that may be helpful for you checking one of our developers’ replies.

NextGEN doesn’t support WP_CONTENT_DIR being a symlink for security reasons.

But you can use mount – -bind will cause Linux server to treat the two locations as one and the same, but each directory is treated as having unique files so beware of existing backup configurations possibly making duplicate copies.

    Hope this helps

Thank you for the continuing support.

Is this something I can do on a shared hosting ?

    Hi @doublesixx,

I am sorry to say it but that workaround won’t work on a shared hosting.
