    hello kevin,

    when hitting submit, the spin animation is looping endless… but nothing is send.

    i can see the entry in the gravity form entries. i have set the debug smtp on, but i cannot see something on the page. also force from overide ist off.

    using smtp.office365.com

    is it normal that after saving the settings the password field is empty?

    i am using gravity 2.5.0.1 (latest version) – or is it not compatible with version 2.5?

    how to solve this?

    There’s your problem. Office365 simply doesn’t support this. Maybe someone else knows a trick to get it to work, but AFAIK it’s impossible to get a webservice to login to 365 to send emails. Microsoft blocks it for security reasons.

    The workaround I use is setting up a subdomain, like form.mydomain.com, and point its MX records at the webserver where I’ll have a dedicated email account like [email protected] set-up for the purpose of sending form emails via SMTP.

    My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. For some reason, I have not gotten emails from this support forum.

    I will look into this, and either get back to you here, or push an update to correct it.

    @wirecreative that is certainly a possibility, however, I have Oulook365, and use this on my personal site with SMTP settings for it. While I can confirm it works so long as the From address is the same as the sending address, it could also very well be an MX record.

    I do have this figured out, but ended up running into an issue with the test no longer showing the twirling icon… the test runs, just never would know it because nothing shows.

    I should have an update soon though… I do have the password saving now

    Corrected and pushed the update.

    Unfortunately, it seems as @wirecreative is correct. I tested with my Outlook365 account with and without a proper MX record, and then with an AWS SES account.

    Both the SES account, and the Outlook365 account (with the proper MX record) tested properly. Without the MX it failed.

    It’s been a while, but I think I got this to work with an SES account after upgrading it to send thousands more emails a month than I actually need. It would not work at the initial level that SES provides prior to upgrading.

    It is true that you need to have the FROM address set as the email of the sending account, even though it seems intuitive to make that the address of the person submitting the form. (You can put that sender email in as the reply-to address, but this still causes confusion with some of my clients.)
